Quality assurance literacy is kind of the "meta literacy" of all other literacy's because it is needed in all of them. With all the new technology out there today it is really easy to create new websites and other things that can be posted on the internet. The unfortunate part of this is anyone can post things on the internet that can be made to look great and professional but the websites might lack quality of content, and the content may be completely false. People have to be very careful when on the internet because you really never know if your looking at a site that is giving false information or not. The only way to know whether the information is true, is you have to cross reference a couple different sites that you know to be reliable. If you do not know of any pick 2 to 3 sites and see if their information is essentially the same, if so there is a good chance the information is true. Then by doing this you should know whether the previous site you were on was truthful in their information.

One site that I personally am careful with is http://www.wikipedia.org/ because anyone can post information on it whether they know what their talking about or not.
